Every issue of Birthing Magazine is information packed and is the result of the dedicated effort of our professional staff. With volunteer writers and photographers an original, educational and contemporary magazine is created. It is distributed to 10,000 families quarterly and viewed online around the world. We are grateful to all who contribute to the growing success of Birthing Magazine.
Karen D. Crowdis is a natural and experienced writer who holds an Honours Degree in Communications. Her extensive writing background includes articles, speeches, research papers, marketing materials, proposals, and editing. She is the proud mom of two amazing children and happily married to her one true love. Clinging to the rebel within, she still listens to music too loud, wrote her honours thesis on heavy metal culture and denies driving a minivan.
Melissa Kimbell has been working in the graphic design industry for over six years and has a background in computer programming. She has led the redesign of Birthing Magazine as well as the complete renovation of www.birthingmagazine.ca. Melissa uses her natural creative talent to create meaningful visual solutions, taking inspiration from almost everything. Melissa is mother to two gorgeous children, and wife to her devoted husband. She is also addicted to olives and obsessed with bright, oversized handbags.
Danielle Rourke is a creative and unique member of our team. Her passion and enthusiasm for sales and customer service is combined with a background in technical writing and instructional design. She is the proud mother of a dynamic and spunky five year old son. When she is not busy playing with Lego or picking up cars, trucks, and trains, she enjoys music, dancing, the great outdoors and spending quality time with her family.
Kristina LaCourse is based in Stratford, Ontario with her husband Joel, and their four children. Professionally, Kristina has a love of selling. She was rewarded for her efforts when she was named Woman of the Year for Women in Business in 2006. Kristina is an active volunteer in her community and is the entertainment correspondent for a local television news magazine. Her passions include Midwifery, cloth diapering, running, and attending rock concerts. Her friends describe her as a fun rock and roll mama!
